Did you know there’s an ancient legend that speaks of an invisible red string of fate. This string is said to bind together any two people whose destinies are intertwined. This intangible thread that connects to people to one another is said to be unbreakable and not bound by time, place or circumstance.

Red

Red is the color most strongly linked to attraction and desire. This is the natural color of the string of fate that connects two people.

Its Origins

The red string of fate is a legend that has its roots in ancient East Asian culture. This version of the tale speaks a red string that binds together the ankles of people who will meet each other or come to help one another at a certain point in time.

Soul mate

Just like Western culture has the notion of ‘soul mates,’ this legend is regarded in much the same way. The main difference between the red string of fate and a twin flame is that the East Asian proverb focuses mainly on two people being bound together, instead of each person discovering their other half.

The Legend

The story of the red string of fate comes from a young boy who was walking home one night. He discovered a man reading a book along the way, so he quickly asked him what it was he was reading. A book of marriages, said the old man, telling the young boy that his marriage was on the horizon. However, after showing the boy who he was destined to marry…

The Trouble

He was not interested in the idea of marriage. He just didn’t want to do it. So he tossed a rock at the girl and ran off in the opposite direction. After years had passed, another marriage was arranged for the boy, to one of the most beautiful girls in the village.

Upon seeing her for the first time, he saw she had a scar from where he had thrown that rock that fateful day years ago. The two of them were destined to be together, he could not deny it.

The red string of fate serves as a constant reminder that, regardless of who you find on the other end of it, you’re going to have to work to make the relationship last. Let it inspire loyalty, devotion and compassion with you and your partner.

Because, no matter where you are or how far away you are from one another, the thread will always be binding the two of you together.
