After Yoko didn’t show up for work, Karen Davis (Sarah Michelle Gellar), an American exchange Nurse-student living in Tokyo with her boyfriend. Karen is sent to check on Emma an American old lady, who recently moved to Japan with her son, daughter and daughter in-law Jennifer. Karen is distressed by the old lady’s unusual behavior, she never talks and sleeps throughout the day. Karen fids out that the house is haunted by a curse, a curse that will kill anyone who enters the house. After numerous horrendous deaths, she finds herself locked in a race against time to save herself from the curse of the The Grudge.
